Soylent Green Is People said:I've got a nice wood table, plus monogrammed clay chips (Christmas gift from Soylent Red) I can donate to the cause should someone host a beginners table game. Most Irvinites might not want to travel to the RSM boonies to play a friendly game, but if there's enough interest I could host.
By the way, is it "Irv-eenos", "Irvine-ites", or "Irvin-e-ans"? What is the proper way to describe people who live in Irvine?

Texas Hold'em is the most popular of the poker games. Play Limit instead of No-Limit to get comfortable with the game. When you go play in real life you'll find the game very social yet analytical.SoCal78 said:USCTrojanCPA said:Try to play poker online with fun money to learn the game. Okay, thanks. I found a fun online version to cut my teeth. I'm a bit surprised by the fast-paced nature of it. (It's Texas Hold 'Em on Zynga.) I think it's primarily due to the way the software is set up. Well, that, and you can't sit there and read people as you would in person. I'd prefer a little slower-paced game but might have to play in person to get that. Also, I prefer strategy games over chance.
