Pic of your Favorite Food!

[quote author="blackvault_cm" date=1231944901]Here is mine. Called Cevapi. Served with two flat breads, raw onions, couple of slices of tomato, sour cream or feta cheese and little sausages (called cevapi)!

Geez, how many people eat one of those things? Looks good though.

Lol...its not that big. The little sausages are about 1' in width and about 2' in length. The flat bread is about 6' in across maybe.

I had to look that food item up.

Is there a place locally to order it up?

Nothing in OC. I believe there are a few balkan shops that you can order the meat from (frozen) and there is a restaurant called Aromas Cafe in LA (sit in or take out, but don't expect 5 star service...they are very slow so call ahead if you want to order). Thats about it...Chicago has 20 of so of these restaurants so does New York. After that...Need to head to Europe. My country sells a plate for about 1.25 usd when converted...a steal. Here about 6-10 bucks.

Dude, a 6 foot diameter sandwich is big to most people. It's all about portion size, people!

Prepped by Chef Kazu:

A couple of months ago I got stuck in traffic on the 405 and thought I would stop food court in the Westside Pavilion food court. I was in the mood for the Turkish place, but unfortunately it was closed. I accidentally ended up at Aroma Cafe and ordered what looks like what is in your picture. I thought the girl behind the counter was very friendly and didn't have a problem with the service.

I remember reading about it in the blog http://manbitesworld.com/

[quote author="skek" date=1232004772]I don't know if I would say this is my absolute favorite food -- I'd have to think about that a little more. But I love Cuban food, and I could eat medianoches or cubanos 3 times a day if I could. Versailles is one of my favorite LA restaurants.

With that said, here's a photo of my favorite food (cerveza not shown, but it's definitely there...just off screen):

And just for momo, here's a recipe for an authentic cubano, complete with hi-res photos.

Right on Skek. Cuban food is the real deal. Perhaps we should do our next lunch meet at a cuban shack. Do you know of one in OC thats worthwhile going to?

[quote author="skek" date=1232005637]I have yet to find one in OC that is worthy. I'm open to suggestions. I have to go to Versailles, or a cuban bakery in Pasadena to get the good stuff.

Have you been to Habana? What say ye skeker? And when are we going?

My favorite Cuban restaurant is Felix's in Orange. Will dine there any time... Great dinner dishes, and amazing dessert. Tres leche is to die for. My wife gleefully eats her 2 desserts every time we go there.

I love this place. Just don't try to get in there on a weekend night; the place is tiny.
