Naw, that?s my shitty photography skills. Her eyes are all black without the flash.

Bijon frise. I have two mixed breed poodles, and they are a little butt hurt over their new sister. They are adjusting, but interestingly enough are much better behaved with the new addition.

[quote author="qwerty" date=1252676908]Very cute pup. Did you get her from a rescue? That is awesome if you did.</blockquote>

Our first two were. This one we got from a pet store. Before you start in on me (because trust me, I know, I swore I'd never do this) she is ten months old and spent eight of them in the store. Nobody is buying purebred dogs right now (think adios HELOC) and we were able to free her from the Plexiglas cage for a couple hundred bucks (her inital price was over $1200) which was less than from an animal shelter. She needed a home and the price was more than right.

Who I feel bad for is the dog she shared a kennel with. Poor guy was distraught when we took her home. Can't save them all.

She?s almost full grown at ten pounds, but she has no skills or habits. I mean none. She was afraid of the outside for a couple of days and would just hover around the Mrs. Now she?s learned she can run around the house and instead of the ?quiet little dog? we have something that sounds like Stompy the Elephant that charges around the house all day!

Thank you for doing this. I often wonder what happens to the older dogs at the pet stores. If I didn't have a house full of cats, I'd be tempted to go and get her cage mate. Maybe another IHB'er has room for him??

Yeah that was very nice of you - i always feel bad for the pet store pups to the point that when i pass a pet store i rarely go in there. I have three little ones already, cant convince the wife to get a fourth, ive thought about fostering but with three around the house already it makes it very hard to convince the wife. If it was just up to me i would definitely do it.

My bf and I are in doggy negotiations (mostly to decide which breed/mix and size). It's overwhelming to look at the rescue/shelter websites. I know that when we actually go to one of the places, I will be in tears. I'm committed to only departing with one, but it will be tough.

If you can figure out what size/breed want, you can contact a dog rescue that specializes in your breed. There are several Bijon rescues, but the cost was onerous and for us the risk was high because I'd have to take my herd to Oklahoma to see if they got along with the second rescue dog. After we adopted her, we 'learned' she was adopted out three times and returned three times because she was so dysfunctional from whatever trauma the initial owner had inflicted on her. It literally took four of five years to get her socialized but my wife still doesn?t really trust her.

George and Candy (below). Gracie is the new addition.

My photography skils do not pwn. Candy is the one on the left. George the Wonderpoodle is the fluffy guy on the right. Sorry for the edit, but I couldn't of been more innacurate in my post!
