i made an easy 150 on tonites game. -5, that was like taking candy from a baby.
And the OVER...I hit the trifecta....OKC -5, OVER, and a 6pt teaser parlay of OKC and the OVER.  :D

Btw, LeBum should hand over the MVP trophy to the real MVP.  You can't just play 3 quarters and disappear in the 4th quarter and claim to be the king.

nice man.  on lebron, dont be one of those haters man. the guy may not be the closer everyone wants him to be, but he is still a beast.
Ever since THE DECISION and then that "not one, not two, not three, not x" little Miami rally, I have lost respect for him.  Is he is a great player?  Without a doubt, but calling him THE KING when he's won nothing and most games disappears in the 4th quarter is a laughable.  I'll take Kobe or Durant any day of the week over THE KING.

Don't hate... appreciate.

LBJ will bounce back.
Someone posted this on a car forum and I thought I'd share it with you IHO.  ;)

If Cleveland got him the pieces he needed like MJ got his in Chicago... it would be a different story.

He had to go to the players so I don't blame him.

Everyone likes to hate on LBJ... but where is Kobe? 2 years in a row he hasn't got out of 2nd round and this year he had to 7 footers. Even if Miam doesn't win... for the last 2 years LBJ has been in Miami... Heat > Lakers.

Boom.

Sorry IFs don't count...kinda like woulda, coulda, and shouldas don't count.  Other than Pippen who did MJ have?  A bunch of roll players (like Cleveland) who MJ made better.  Now he's on Miami with 2 other great players with a bunch of roll players.  If the king can't win a title with Wade and Bosh then we'll all know he's a fraud.  OKC is going to be a contender for a long time.

Why don't ifs count? If you're going to bring up the past... I can certainly do the same thing. Your line of reasoning is flawed.

"Other than Pippen"? Who was Pippen for LBJ in Cleveland?

And I also dislike how people compare him to Jordan... different era, different players, different times. I don't see anyone trying to draw comparisons to Bill Russell.

I noticed how you avoided the Kobe comparison for the last 2 seasons... something recent and relevant.

And yes... OKC is going to be a contender... unlike LBJ, Durant got the pieces early in his career... lucky him.

Ok, then let's no make historical comparisons.  We'll see how the Heat do in this series.  Btw, why didn't the Heat win last year?  LBJ had Wade and Bosh and were up in the series....why couldn't they close out a less talented Mavs team?  What was the excuse last year?  You and I both know that the Heat had a much easier path to the Finals this year not having to deal a Chicago team with Rose and/or an Orlando team with Howard.  Not only will OKC beat the Heat but the Spurs would probably do the same thing.  Just like LBJ, Durant has two great players around him so this match up is fairly even.

As for Kobe, he is on the downside of his career.  They ran into a buzzsaw called the Thunder this year (even had a chance to win 2 games that they lost) and played with no heart against the Mavs last year.  Lakers have chemistry and coaching issues.  If the Clips re-sign Griffin and CP3 they will be better than the Lakers in the coming years.

First off... I didn't expect the Heat to actually get to the Finals last year... I hoped they would and I remember during the season when they want on that losing streak... no one thought they would get to the Finals.

Secondly... just because you have two other stars doesn't guarantee a championship... but... it's better than wasting away in Cleveland hoping his role players are going to step up.

This is the new NBA... there are no guarantees. How many people were calling it for the Spurs when they went up 2-0 on the Thunder? Heck... like you said, even the Lakers could have beat the Thunder and we know they match up okay against the Spurs so certainly the Lakers could have been in the Finals. And when Boston went up on Miami, everyone said  that Boston was going to win.

That's why it's a seven game series. To call it right now for the Thunder is a bit short-sighted. Wait until Miami gets back home and we'll see what is up.

No one expected Dallas to win last year... and no one though they would be swept out in the 1st round by OKC this year.

You keep talking about individuals... and what I keep saying is that while LBJ is great... the NBA is a team sport... that's why he had to leave Cleveland.

Every person I ask this answers me the same... if you were LBJ... and you wanted to win at least one ring... would you stay in Cleveland?

So stop hating on LeBron and just enjoy a great series.

Go Heat!

I don't blame him for leaving Cleveland, I wouldn't want to play there if I were in the NBA.  It's THE DECISION, THE KING JAMES description, and that little prediction of X championships which cause me not to like LBJ.  But yeah, it's early and I'll enjoy watching the series and making a few bucks betting on it.  :D

And about last night's game... while LBJ may not have had a good 4th... Wade and Bosh need to step up their game if *they* want to win a championship.

It was LBJ who carried them through the Boston series.

P.S. I don't think LeBron named himself the King... quiz time... do you know how he got that nickname (no Google)?

Doesn't help that ESPN keep showing the "not 1, not 2" clip over and over again.  I think anyone will hate Lebron after that brainwashing.  easily crossed over the line from confidence to arrogance.  and the public hates that, and will crucify you if you come up short, again and again.

The problem is the LBJ haters tend to characterize Lebron's game in the wrong light. His game isn't like Kobe's or Jordan's or Durant's... he's more like Magic.

Clutch doesn't just mean 4th quarter, last minute, last second... it means dependable for a majority of the game. He was clutch in Game 6 at Boston. And speaking of, how many of you betters made or lost money on that game? I see the "Yeah... I'm so good I made money betting against Lebron"... I find it hard to believe you guys never lose on your bets. USC makes it seem like it's so easy to bet the NBA and I don't think it is because of all the dynamics at play.

I find it funny that Melo gets a pass for whining about being in Denver, makes trade demands, goes to NY, does nothing there and even gets the coach fired... that to me is worse behavior than LBJ's. And character-wise, in my opinion, I think Kobe is worse than LBJ. His Colorado incident, feud with Shaq and marital issues show he's less than perfect... yet because he's a Laker and not LBJ... he's awesome?

Not sure, maybe the hype machine called ESPN?  haha  Btw, Harden had a poor game too so I could say the same thing that he needs to step it up.

they were just talking about this on 710ESPN, someone emailed into the show saying that there was a stat shown (or discussed) on TV showing that LJ did not have a good fourth quarter, 7 points and 2 rebounds, that averages out to 28 points and 8 rebounds, which are just about right on his averages.  His fourth quarter was just fine. Its just Durant had a great 4th quarter.

It's not easy to bet the NBA...that's why I don't bet a lot ($50-$100 a game) and have stuck to using the 6-pt teaser parlay.  I normally hate to bet the over/under but there's only 1 game so I have no choice.  Occasionally I'll make a larger moneyline bet to win a few bucks like I did in Game 6 of the OKC/SA game.  If not for the 6-pt teaser parlay, I would be down betting the games with the spreads.  For the record, I told my dad to bet the following in Game 2 for me today:

$130 6-pt teaser to win $100 on OKC and the over
$55 to win $50 on OKC -5pts

I heard that too... but you know... it's LBJ... they expect him to have 20 pts, 10 rebs and 5 assists in the 4th or else he's not "clutch".

The line is still -5 even after last night? Vegas still fears Miami.

For the record, did you make any bets on the Boston/Miami series?

And... have you lost any bets?

People always talk about their wins... but never their losses... just like real estate and stocks.

Here are a handful of my losses in the previous round....Game 7 Boston, 6-pt teaser Miami Game 5 and OKC game 4, SA Game 1, SA Game 5, SA Game 3 over, and Miami Game 2.

Those all seem reasonable bets... esp the SA Game 5.

Yeah, I was pretty comfy thinking SA would win Game 5 so when OKC won that game I knew they close them out in Game 6 at home hence the moneyline bet.  Boston was up in Game 7 at half and still couldnt cover because they fell apart in the last 5-6 minutes.  Betting point spreads is tough so that's why I like the 6-pt teaser because it brings the spreads down close to str8 up bets.
