The wife gave me a guys movie/fast food day out today; and a few friends suggested we see Avatar. I have been living under a baby rock for the last year, so I was like, what is Avatar... Well for a guy who does not have a TV or seen any special effects for the last few years, this movie more than made up for it.

We saw it in 3D at the District only $9 before 11am. Reading some reviews I was a little disoriented at first, but got used to the special effects, and I'm really prone to motion sickness.

Good story, and overall a great escape! PG-13 so it's fairly clean, just lots of shoot-em up violence. Don't go in with any expectations like I did, and you'll have a great time. Wives, this would be a great Happy New Years gift for the husbands... definitely will earn you some points when it comes to Spa day with the girls or something <!-- s:D -->:D<!-- s:D -->

I enjoyed Sherlock Holmes. Good action and great acting by Robert Downey Jr and Jud Law. <!-- s:D -->:D<!-- s:D -->
I really want to see Up in the Air. Anyone seen it?
I did...and it was pretty good...we also went to see It's Complicated which I highly recommend.
Thanks.

I also kind of want to see It's Complicated but I think it's more of a Netflixer.

We rented a slew of films the past two weeks:

Transformers 2 - Absolute junk. Hated it.

All about Steve - Thankfully missed it. Wife loved it for "what it was"

Terminator Salvation - Pretty good. Nice to see the Governator in it.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom - Does not hold up well over time, except the mine and bridge scene.

MP and the Holy Grail - still a great deal of fun to watch.

"9" (Animated). Worth renting. The ending isn't as grand as you might think, but has a great deal of WOW to it.

This movie looks good. Any of you going to see the "Lovely Bones" this weekend? <!-- s8-) -->8-)<!-- s8-) --> I'm trying to watch as many movies in the theaters before the babies arrive.

Four movies that i think are Awesome! <!-- s8-) -->8-)<!-- s8-) -->
I saw Avitar - Awesome! <!-- s8-) -->8-)<!-- s8-) -->
I saw 2012 - Awesome! ;D
I saw Up in the Air - Awesome! <!-- s:D -->:D<!-- s:D -->
I saw Blind Side - Awesome! <!-- s:D -->:D<!-- s:D -->

I slept through "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel".

It's like they're trying to do a high school angst movie with cartoon characters... didn't work very well for me... especially because they act more like middle school children. But... the kids loved it.

Are there any really good movies out right now? My friend and I plan to go out this weekend to see a movie but we don't have anything in mind. Tix are too expensive these days so I want to make sure the money is well spent.
