NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Most new EV’e are connected vehicles that can receive OTA updates. IoT enabled telematics systems collect and send data on your driving parameters.

Rental car companies are very interested in this and want auto makers to provide customer data so they can see if you were driving 100 mph in 55 mph zone.

The State government is also very interested in the ability to monitor distance driven and send you a bill for $0.04/mile driven. All roads become toll roads in addition to your gas tax.

Why stop there? With 2-way data, in theory Sacramento could brick your car remotely based on extended O2 sensor readings or if you don't get that check engine light or recall sorted quickly enough. I'll keep holding on to my 1991 Honda and my kit car just in case....

I don’t want my daughters data going to China…still can’t track these😆😆😆👍🏽😆

The Expensive Accessory Every ‘Hot Girl’ Wants: An Old, Loud SUV

The market for vintage Broncos and Land Rovers is booming, fueled by affluent young women willing to spend north of $100,000 for ‘junk on wheels’

“Those EV cars, they’ll run you over because you can’t even hear them,” said Matthews, 28, who lives in Manchester, England, and bought her navy Jeep Wrangler YJ last month for about $16,500. She said that people look at her and think: That’s a cool girl, driving a cool car. “And there’s something fun about a car that’s quite bouncy.”

Ford's EV sales numbers (~10k) are in the Rivian (~12k) and Lucid (~4k) range

Tesla's EV sales numbers (~480k) are in another league

Also... not looking good for Lucid:

It's a shame because their products compete well at the high-end with range and feature.... but unlike Tesla, they weren't fast enough to produce their more affordable models to push volume.

Also as I predicted🤷🏽‍♂️😆😆😆👎🏽🦄🌈

Thriving just like horse and carriage right? Why would someone build a car, all that money poured in, ludicrous...

Look at all the automakers do they have plans to make EV, imagine if they didn't have any, so yes, survive.
Destroy equity may be seen now, only because they are still in the infancy stage (as mentioned huge R&D and cap investment) and haven't reached the lifecycle where they make a profit. You know, I'm quite surprised that I have to even mention this considering you're in the equity business and I thought have decent business acumen.

Oh, looky here, just came in:

How Honda’s Pledge to Go All-Electric Unraveled

A derailed gamble led Honda to its first-ever annual loss and has intensified scrutiny over the future of its chief executive.

Just five years ago, Honda’s chief executive, Toshihiro Mibe, was widely hailed as a visionary.

He pledged that by 2040, the Japanese automaker — long celebrated for its mastery of internal-combustion engines — would spend tens of billions of dollars to phase them out in favor of electric vehicles.

The bold shift won applause from Wall Street, then bullish on all things E.V., and environmental groups that had criticized rival Japanese automakers for clinging to hybrid and gasoline-powered cars.

More recently, however, Mr. Mibe’s vision has unraveled in a way the chief executive has called “heartbreaking.”

Honda Is Paying the Price for Falling for Biden-Era Climate Policies. Let’s Spare Others the Same Fate.

But consumer demand for EVs began to wane – not because of free market factors, but because consumers had been manipulated by government policies that either limited their choices or penalized them for going against the government grain. Putting all its eggs into the EV basket, Honda was caught flat-footed when government policies changed.“Honda’s troubles reflect a broader reckoning across the automotive industry,” according to the Times. “In some ways, the company has become a poster child for legacy carmakers, from Volkswagen to Ford Motor, that wagered billions on a rapid shift to an electric future, only to be caught flat-footed when consumer demand cooled.” Again, let’s say this slowly so everyone can follow: Consumer demand didn’t cool because fickle buyers couldn’t make up their minds between internal combustion engines and EVs. Deep into its story, the Times finally acknowledges the real reason for the briefly growing popularity of EVs in the first place: “The Biden administration added momentum by offering billions in subsidies and consumer tax credits.”

While there are no ICE trucks under $25k like the EV Slate truck (which I find weird), there are ICE cars and “suvs” under that mark:

The Kicks is something I was looking at for my kid.

If the gov legalized importing Kei trucks with strict speed restrictions (not permitted on freeways)…
