Completely disagree. With 30 year loan rates hovering around 4.5% (and 3.5% just a year ago)...it's super affordable on a monthly basis.
A $400,000 mortgage at 9% is $3,218.49. A $650,000 loan at 4.5% is $3,293.45.
What is more difficult is the initial hurdle of getting a house, especially the down payment.
