Biscuit.... towed from your driveway? what could possibly have been the basis, however far fetched? I just dont understand how a driver would agree to it.

Did you use his wireless to sign him up bix? That's a nice trick to play on a bad neighbor. Snarf their unsecured wireless connection and download a bunch of kiddie porn from it. Toss in a couple of terrorist death threats to the president too and they'll have the FBI, Dept. of Homeland Security and Secret Service all over them...

Did I ever tell you guys how wonderful you are? How I would never do anything to offend you? I mean I really love you guys (only in an appropriate sense of course!) Y'all will excuse me while I make sure I've never said anything that could be construed (inaccurately) as offensive to you. Oh, and that my Wifi password is secure.

Ehhh, those tow truck companies ARE overzealous. The association has such an ambigiously written policy that its difficult to interperate. BUT since all the cars were running, were not eyesores and were used weekly.... ehh, he was just being a douchebag because he was retired and upset.
The tow company said my car was not in my driveway and would not release it until I paid.
Bastards.
I then politely informed this bastard that next time he towed my cars i would take him to court and sue him for theft. the cars were on the property, were not on the walkway and were not eyesores. I have caught him trying to tow them away in the middle of the night. I again politely informed the driver that he cannot tow once the owner shows up AND that my car was in the driveway.
It was a nightmare, so much lost sleep/lost money/lots of stress because of this douchebag. I think he finally got the clue when HIS car was being towed. I later installed a video system to monitor the house.

The best idea, IMHO, is to NOT MOVE TO A HOUSE WITH AN HOA IN THE FIRST PLACE. This can not be repeated enough.
I was very interested in El Camino because it is irvine but no hoa. Then I actually drove around and saw what 30 years of no HOA nagging will do to a neighborhood. The neighborhood was low end when built, which means that the original owners moved out and got replaced with renters over the years. Lack of attention and no HOA leads to cracked and oil stained driveways, cars on lawns, all of that. High end custom home neighborhoods have no HOA, but usually have city enforcement that meets or beats any HOA standard. Just try to cut down a tree in San Marino and see who shows up at your door. Also, the owner retention and pride of ownership of high end areas means no need for an HOA. (floral park, north tustin) I just can't afford those areas, so I'll deal with an HOA in the meantime.
Make sure that brick that just went through his windshield is a brick removed from the center of his patio.
Recently, An Asian doctor moved into Floral Park and did a remodel to his homes. Although he did not add a second floor or expanded the single level footage too much. He likes the "Oh my God" ostentatious entry with 2 ornate fluted fiberglass columns flanking a gable roof with foam trim galore all plaster over the exterior walls. Floral Park is not totally immune.
Recently Graph posted an Imelda house in North Tustin thread and this remodel in Floral Park is a close sibling to that. Why is it that wealthy Asians have such a poor taste in architecture? In Shady Canyon Asians custom homes are the most challenging ones for the Shady Design Review Committee as well.
Bk-That house is one of the few houses my husband even notices, it drives him crazy what they have done to it. The local real estate agents don't know whether to laugh or cry, they really hate it though. I don't know why the poor taste in architecture but there is a clear desire to be very showy. For the same reason, our good Korean friends had to get married at the Crystal Cathedral upon the clear insistence of their parents. Have you ever been in the Crystal Cathedral when there is only 100 people in it? They viewed it as prestigious, everyone else viewed it as ridiculous.
You may be right and revenge seems to be a natural human condition, but if you do something wrongful, the other party may bring it up later if it ends up in court. They have their ways of making sure things like revenge dont happen again.

These accusations are ridiculous and nothing more than an attempt to distract the court from the ongoing pattern of discrimination against families with children and people with disabilities."

Some of the other rules might be useful for counter-harassment. For example, I've never seen a budget from my HOA, not that I care because the dues are very low, they *do* keep up common areas and streets properly, and they've never given us any worse than petty annoyances.

Associations sometimes get taken over by petty tyrants and bullies. Clearly this is the case here. Aside from the bricks thru the window and gas tank concoctions, I would suggest you find a very mean and agressive attorney to send letters to your HOA and the bully, in particular. They are harassing you and creating a hostile living situation. I believe this could be actionable. In the meantime, summarize the harassment and keep a log of it. You'll see a pattern in the actions of your nut neighbor/board member. Your child has a disability and that in itself is often a "reason" that a hater neighbor will harass a family - it's simply discrimination and they are trying to drive you out of your own home and neighborhood.
If it can be determined that your neighborhood bully has actually become a liability, they will most likely be neutered by the other board members, the association's insurance company or just by the attorney notification itself.
Some one out of line like this needs to be dealt with in a fast and painful way. They will never understand "nice", as they are just miserable people and should be dealt with in a scary, serious way that includes legal consequences if they don't back down immediately.

I know the others were joking, but seriously don't throw bricks or put sugar in the gas tank. Last I checked this is still America and we don't tolerate self-help. This is a nation of laws. You should tell your neighbor to immediately send you any updates or minutes from the HOA, or to establish a web site so they are accessible. You should try to be fair with him and tell him whats on your mind, even though he is unfair. Tell him you feel that the rules are being made to bother you specifically, or show him a situation where the rules are not uniformly applied. Get the treasurer to show you the parking permit account sheet to make sure everyone paid. If all else fails, remind him of the COMMANDMENT towards his neighbor.

That is your opinion. HOA often provide regularity in living conditions and increased neighborhood home value, if they are responsible and prudent in their actions. I enjoy living in HOA areas. I dont want your 45 foot boat parked on my street. I dont want your larger-than-life dayjob mini-rig parked in front of my house all the time. I dont want your uncle Fred's RV setting up shop and BBQing on the front lawn of your place for weeks on end. I dont want to live next to an eyesore of a house with an owner trying to make a pathetic artistic statement in his choice of neon colors. I dont want to live next to a barren dirt-patch, weed filled yard.
There are costs and benefits. For many, the costs of the HOA are worth the benefits. HOA abusers, like the subject of the OP's issue, need to be dealt with on a case by case basis.
