Gold Poll

And I own quite a bit of "precious plastics", and am in the process of converting some of them to cash. :) Maybe I should buy gold with that cash.</blockquote>

Ponies... Worth their weight in gold.

Here is how it really went down...

<strong>Graph:</strong> We never spend time together anymore...last time I saw you was at IHB get togethers. You spend too much time with those horses.

<strong>Cayci:</strong> But how come you won't play horsies with me like you did when we first started dating. I thought you liked playing with them. You even made horsie sounds.

<strong>Graph:</strong> I don't mind playing with them once in a while...I like them too. However, I'm starting to wonder who you like more. You really need to decide...the horses or me.

<strong>Cayci:</strong> I can't believe you are going to make me choose between the two of you. This isn't easy.

<strong>Graph:</strong> You're kidding right? You are actually pondering this?

<Cayci starts to cry>

<strong>Graph:</strong> Wow...ok, how about you keep a couple of your favorites. You don't need all 33,087 of them.

<strong>Cayci:</strong> Sigh...ok. I'll sell them on eBay I guess.

BV: That a boy Graph...it came down to the wire, but I knew you would pull it off. That's one for the boys!

... (a day later.)

<strong>Cayci:</strong> This is amazing, I can't believe ALL my ponies sold for the "Buy It Now"/ WTF price. This is great!! Wow, and the same user bought all of them. Wait the user is... <em>"Crackercakes"?!?</em> :bug: Graph - you've got some explaining to do!

<strong>Graph:</strong> Ok, I admit - this was an attempt to get the ponies all to myself!

My mom's bf has his gold coins in his safety deposit box at the bank.

Which bank? LOL j/k I think gold under $900 is probably a buy. So is silver under $10. Not sure what investors don't understand about a $10T deficit. Unless Obama can print $1T a day in US Dollars, this market can't hold, and inflation hedges should turn even more positive. My TIPS has been on a tear.

Careful what you ask for or you might just get it. haha Remember, we have technology now so we don't need printing presses...all they need to do is add a few zeros on the wire transfer screens and hit the "send" button at the FED.

That is where I store it now. But, part of me is paranoid because the state already try to confinscate my kid's college savings accounts because of "inactivity" even though there was activity in the accounts. I've had clients were they took the goods out of the safety deposit box.

[quote author="skek" date=1238807408]Investment potential aside, does anyone else just like the thought of having gold bullion in a safety deposit box? Kinda cool sounding, if you asked me.

<em>*skek makes a note to install a walk-in vault in the subterranean basement of his imaginary custom home where he can store his gold bullion and krugerrands...yeah, that's the ticket.*</em></blockquote>

Personally, I'd feel cooler if I had a hidden passageway that led to my in house vault. :)

I've been lurking for about 3-4 months so I thought I'd give you a little more info for your demographics. First, I'm 29. I have zero in gold and I've been trying to read more about the gold market. At this point, it seems more like a pain in the butt to figure out how to get in the gold market, much less build the knowledge necessary to make a wise investment. Currently, I'm about 70-75% in cash, with only 20% of future contributions going to cash. I contributed 70% of my 401k contributions to the Russell 2000 for about 4 years until I moved most of it over to cash in November or December of 2007. The Russell grew something like 10-20% per year during the period I was contributing, and I was able to save almost all of my gain by moving it when I did. However, I'm still kicking myself for not moving the 10-15% I had invested in international funds. I never thought this crisis was going to affect the worldwide financial system. That is my primary lesson-learned.
