I blame the speechwriters in both cases. Even though President Corn Pops nor Vice President Diversity Hire Barbie can't walk and talk simultaneously, you can tell they are just reading what the teleprompter says. If the screen said "I like Froot Loops, not Trix" they would read that verbatim and not think otherwise.

It's just more free advertising for the campaign when the networks play up "certain words" reminding voters that Trump doesn't worry about the conventions of a normal politician.

The establishment has tried this pearl clutching tactic many times before and it has never succeeded.
