Ford contemplates scrapping F-150 Lightning, report says

Ford Motor Co. is considering scrapping the Dearborn-assembled all-electric F-150 Lightning pickup truck in a move that could raise questions about the future of big EV trucks, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Cutting the Lightning would be the latest setback for EV trucks. Ram parent Stellantis NV earlier this year said it was canceling plans to launch an all-electric version of its full-size truck, though it's moving forward with a extended-range EV that includes a gas-powered engine onboard to recharge the battery. The Journal also cited sources saying General Motors Co. executives have discussed discontinuing some electric trucks. Sales of Tesla Inc.'s stainless steel Cybertruck pickup also has plummeted, and EV startup Rivian Automotive Inc. has cut jobs this year.

"Given weak EV demand, the Lightning long in the tooth, the need for more ICE F-150 capacity to make up for the Novelis fire, and a new generation EV truck in the works, it’s not shocking to see the rumor." David Whiston, an analyst at investment firm Morningstar Inc., said in an email.

As I said… focusing on more affordable EVs because some people think they cost over $100k.
Things are not going well at Kia EV…according to Electrek…don’t ever claim this publication is not a political, unbiased hack house…😂😂😂👎🏽🌈🦄

Kia delays EV4 indefinitely – America loses more choice due to tariffs

The Kia EV4 will be “delayed until further notice” in the US, according to a Kia rep and reported by InsideEVs. Kia said the change is because “market conditions for EVs have changed.”
We’ve seen models get delayed suddenly before, and while Kia did not directly say that the model will never come to the US, the fate of other “delayed” EV models in the past does not give us significant hope. Usually, a “delay” like this ends up meaning that the car just won’t ever make it to US roads (see: VW ID.7, Gen 2 Kia Soul EV, Ram 1500 EV, and others).

Since the EV4’s April reveal, republicans have continued their all-out assault on clean air, as in July a republican Congress passed a $4 trillion giveaway to wealthy US elites which also inflated the price of EVs by $7,500. Regulatory changes focusing on raising your costs and making your air dirtier are in progress, trying to force more gasoline and pollution on Americans and restricting access to cleaner, better EVs.

Hmmm.... I'd say it's political when they claim a 4 trillion giveaway to wealthy US elites. Also, cancelling the $7,500 tax credit did not "inflate the price of EV's by $7,500". That's not how tax credits work.

They reveal their bias as they boo-hoo about artificial government support for EV's evaporate. Two words: "Cry Harder".
