Covid 19 test for Hawaii travel.

We were on Kauai in June, a restaurant we went to was only open for a few days when we went for dinner, after being closed for months, short staffed and still getting into the swing of things.  I noticed a lot of shops/restaurants closed permanently in some shopping malls/strips.

Less crowds in Nov, Dec is the start of whale watching season, so assume more ppl will start showing up.

You might want to postpone your Hawaii vacations. Things aren't going well in paradise.

Governor to visitors: Stay away as Hawaii sees surge in COVID cases, hospitalizationshttps://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2021/...nce-number-covid-cases-hospitalizations-soar/

Wow, they are considering a lockdown...I thought we were done with that.  I guess I'll see how things are in 3+months.

Refund your trip now!

Writing is on the wall in big bold letters.  Infections are at the November level, deaths are tracking the same.

We are thinking of going back to Hawaii in November/December but we may just wait out until things normalize. Definitely don?t want to deal with lockdowns/quarantines/more covid tests.

Haha  I haven't book anything yet and if I did it would be a refundable trip.

I'm actually born/raised in Hawaii and have relatives there. I wouldn't recommend going to Hawaii anytime soon. Their government is at a point where they may lock down at this point.

Wouldn?t waste my vacation dollars there?they don?t want them?

Aloha oy: Hawaii governor tells tourists to stay home until massive COVID-19 wave passes

Oh, you can still go to Hawaii, but ? they?d prefer you stay home. Governor David Ige (D) held a press conference late yesterday to discourage tourists during their new wave of Delta-variant COVID-19. The governor pledged to work with airlines, hotels, and other businesses to put off planned and paid-for vacations for a more propitious time ? like late October:

it's not that they don't want your vacation dollars. they are trying to protect travelers along with the locals that live there. Covid has hit Hawaii probably the hardest. The entire economy depends on tourists. So the fact that the governor is saying this speaks volumes.

I was back before lockdowns happened there and once it was locked down, the main tourist strip was empty. I've lived there for 20 years and it was NEVER empty. Seeing it empty really gave me the chills as you can see first hand how many people are impacted by this.
