Coffee

I will 2nd the Keurig. There's one at the office.

I was going to give up coffee for lent.

Then I remembered we had a Keurig.

Decided to give up fast food instead.

This is what I have:

It makes a perfect ten cups in two minutes, has no warmer plate, and has an adjustment on the basket so you can slow the extraction and get a similar quality half pot or single cup.

I have an inside track to superpremium coffee, but even I run out sometimes and switch to Folgers. The machine is worth the price.

Graphix,

I was able to buy the Blue Mountain Coffee from Jamaica, because we were there last week....it was a long drive from our hotel to the Mountain, but it was worth it. There are many brands in Jamaica that claim their coffee is "Blue Mountain"...but it is not.

Wow, looks like someone figured out that coffee that smells and tastes like cat urine isn't going to sell just because it came from Kenya!l

In a bid to reinvigorate lackluster U.S. traffic, Starbucks Corp will introduce a new, everyday brew called Pike Place Roast on Tuesday and for 30 minutes will hand out free 8-ounce (240 ml) samples.

Free cups of the new coffee, which the company said has a smoother flavor and finish, will be available starting at 9 a.m. on the West Coast and noon on the East Coast at all its roughly 7,100 company-operated U.S. stores.

"It is the best coffee that we have created, maybe, in our history," Chief Executive Howard Schultz said on a call with reporters on Monday.

i've been eyeing the kb741 for years now. they keep changing the shape of the carafe and this latest one just looks like it would make a mess during pouring. that's the only thing that's put me off purchasing it - have you had any problems with it?

I just had a cup of Starbuck's new Pike Place Roast. Apparently this is their new drip coffee. My thoughts: kinda of reminded me of McDonald's coffee. Think I will stick with Peet's as my preferred coffee shop.

Anyone else try this?

Never tried that since I hate Starbucks, but at least it sounds like they're improving. My preferred coffee is Gevalia that you see in magazine ads all the time. I've been a long-time member, and while they're relatively expensive, it is still the best coffee I've had on a consistent basis. From an individual cup standpoint, there is a place in St. Louis called The Grind that makes a mean cup of Joe.

I went to Starbucks an hour ago just to try their new coffee....bah....nothing special...just a cup with different color...On their website, this fresh roast coffee was suppose to make enough aroma to fill the coffee house...but that didn't happen...still no much smell of good coffee when I went in...Couple of the small coffee shop in Vancouver smells strong coffee when you open the door ( and actually you can smell the coffee in front of it on a cold day)...I think this is just a re-branding effort in an attempt to create some"buzz".

I have been going to Mac for my ice coffee for the last two weeks...$1.89...tastes better than Starbucks!
