+1 Seattle will win because their defense will smoother Payton and it'll probably be cold outside which also favors Seattle. I'm taking the under and Seattle. The public money is going on Denver and the smart money will go on Seattle. Right now you can find Seattle +2.5pts, but I'll wait to bet it once the spread is +3pts.Tyler Durden said:Seattle is likely going to win.
They probably have the best secondary ever assembled. 4 pro bowlers at every position back there.
that means denver won't have mismatches in their 3 and 4 wide personnel packages.
Plus the Seattle offense is built for ball control - meaning keeping Manning on the sidelines watching where he can't score points.
Everyone likes Denver because they score points - however, their defense has been garbage (last game being the exception). SD exposed how a team with a strong running game can beat them. Hell - they even lost to the Colts this year - and the colts suck (playoffs not withstanding).
I'm saying the colder it gets in Jersey, the higher the chances that Seattle will win. Payton mostly played in a domed stadium most of his career and didn't play well when it gets really cold outside, including last year's home game against Baltimore in the playoffs. Seattle's defense has done a great job against pocket passers this year.irvinehomeowner said:@USC:
Are you saying it gets colder in Seattle than in Denver?
Russel is definitely not a great quarterback and Pete's goal with him is to manage the game and not lose it. Kind of like the QBs that played for Tampa Bay and Baltimore with the great defenses. I think that Seattle's defense will disrupt Peyton into making at least 1 or 2 mistakes (INT and/or fumble).irvinehomeowner said:Hehe... looks like you read this:

I personally don't think the cold will affect Payton as much as Seattle's defense. In one game with everything on the line, I feel the weather will affect both teams the same so I don't think it's an advantage to either.
I do think Payton will have a much harder time because he is less mobile than Kaep (which is why SF had a chance against SEA) and although I like Russell Wilson, he was unimpressive last Sunday. But like against SF, I do think Marshawn will be the Lynchpin (pun!).
I just hope it's a good game since the last 2 were close. I don't like blowouts.

I think Russell Wilson is at least as good as andrew luck. Who does he have to throw to? would you pick any of his receivers on your fantasy team? His TE? Luck gets all the publicity because he was the number 1 pick, but no one can argue with Wilson's W/L record. He doesn't care about stats - nor should any QB - the only one that matters is if your team won.
The guy manages the game and makes plays when he needs to. He typically doesn't have those meltdown games throwing 3 or 4 picks that Luck, Kaepernick and RG3 have all had. Plus he has dealt with just as many injuries as any of the other guys on his team and yet the team doesn't miss a beat. Everyone is useful but no one is necessary.
