Beer Thread

The best part about buying a house was that I was able to put our old fridge in the garage and turn it into a DBF (dedicated beer fridge). Completely full of Beer, or at least it was. Need to go back to Bevmo. My current favorite is Stone IPA. Nice and hoppy.

I had an Oregon beer this weekend. Moose Drool

I'd buy it again. I thought it was more amber and hoppy than normal for an ale. Great name too.

I have a new favorite beer -- Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout. If you like dark beers, you have to try this one. It is absolutely delicious!

I had the Oatmeal once. It came in a "Beers of the World" pack (it was a gift). I put off drinking it because I wasn't really sure what it was. It turned out to be quite good!

Just tried the Ruination IPA. It's a liquid poem to the glory of hops! Hope it wears off a bit before I head over to the chat room.

“Old Effenheimer-A complex English ‘Old’ style ale. A rich ale with roasted toffee notes and a bittersweet aroma. When things are getting you down just reach for an Old Effenheimer. Use of the Old Effenheimer is not recommended around children.”

That makes me want to go brew some beer.

That reminds me... Anyone here into brewing? I have a never-used bottle capper to give away.

IHB'ers love free stuff, and what would go better with beer than free tacos?

When I came to the US I searched everywhere for a decent beer and finally managed to find one:

Old Speckled Hen

It is hard to find but it is worth it when you do

The Old Speckled Hen reference made me laugh. One of my frat brothers in college loved the stuff...to the point where when I was pledging his task for me was to go to all the stores in the area to find him a bottle of it. I finally tried it, and it was pretty good. Blue Moon is also excellent, good call Trooper.
