101 Things to do with a vacant house

As the number of vacant hard-to-sell houses starts to pile up, what might the unfortunate owners/banks/bagholders do with them? Of course they could sell them or rent them out, but how about something else?

1. Empty the pool and charge the local skateboarders

2. Invite Jim Cramer over and give him the keys to a bulldozer. Show it on pay per view.

3. Use it for reality show filming

4. Open a pet daycare center

This is a creative group. I'm sure you can come up with lots of things.

Cripes acpme, that's the hard way. Do it the easy way. Drive a 'hood, find the REOs, put an ad on craigslist with a low low teaser rate rental rate, hold an open house for renters, collect the credit check fees, take a deposit and rent to a few poor schlobs because "you can tell they are good people" and leave. It's not your house.

So let's assume this is a 4 bed house. Reading these suggestions we've got an IHB clubhouse where:

- The garage is a grow house

- Bed one is reserved for smoking out and playing Cheech and Chong games

- Bed two has trance music for people drop xtc

- Bed three charges a $160/hr entry fee

- Bed four is filled with workstations for people to post on IHB

Serious suggestions: turn it into a community center for neighborhood kids who get home before their parents do.

If the house is rather large, turn it into a private school. This actually happened sometime in the 1950s with an estate near where I live.

LOL... This actually happened in the 90s. Well, except the charging part. Even if the pool still had water, but was mosquito infested, you could drain it. The cops never went for the mosquito prevention team excuse.

That is one big house, either that or we may run out of vacant homes.
