What to do during traffic school?

alrighty, big difference between taking it in newport beach (yesterday) vs laguna niguel (3 yrs ago)... 1- the nb officers were much more relaxed, only came into class twice (in 8-hr period) to check if anyone has fallen asleep. in laguna niguel, i felt like they were practically stationed...

    The death of a friend

Ditto everyone else...I once read an interview of a CEO type where he mentioned his father died suddenly when he was 18, and from that point on, this man never made long-term plans for his personal life any more. My wife often asks me why I feel the rush to try new things "the same day"...

    Music school

that's funny that wikipedia describes the term as such...growing up in hong kong, i was always told that "gwai lo" began due to foreigners' physical appearance: lighter skin, blond/red hair colors, green/blue eyes; but never due to barbaric behavior. methinks bkshopr doesn't give a shit...

    Racquet Club of Irvine

Went there one Saturday afternoon as a non-member. Impression (don't take my words as gospel, just an one-day experience): 1- Lots of courts, and many of them were empty. 2- Members were older, typically 50+ 3- Not too fancy a place, the facilities look a bit dated. 4- No cougar hotties!

What do you use your garage for?

People who call their garage "Storage" and their driveway "Private Parking"...stand up and unite against tyrants like T!M!

Expat Observations from a world traveler 2005 (WARNING: OT & Long)

I totally agree with the "two souls in two lands" idea, because I feel that way whenever I go back to Hong Kong where I was born. Then the "leaving a piece of you behind" freaked me out! I thought I was the only one who felt that.

    San Diego's Mission Bay

It's been my wish to find a beach condo, and I really like the Mission Bay area when driven through it last fall, but haven't visited it yet. Does anyone have experience or general thoughts about the area? I also have some specific questions: 1- Which of these OC places do you think...

    Highlands Ranch, Colorado

My sister and brother in law live in Highlands Ranch CO and are visiting Irvine now. They are lived there for about 5 years. The posts here are pretty much right on. Highlands Ranch CO is a master planned community by Shea Homes with 30k houses and 60k people patterned after Mission Viejo CA...
