Back in 2020-early 2023 when China blocked AU coal imports, US stepped in the fill the gap. Companies like HCC’s stock tripled.
While China may not absolutely “need” coal from US, the sheer volume of purchase can change the fortunes of an Appalachian coal mining company in a big way.

Crude oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz hit prewar levels
https://www.cnbc.com/2026/09/30/iran-war-strait-hormuz-gulf-oil-fuel.html?__source=iosappshare|com.apple.UIKit.activity.CopyToPasteboard
I do…and by the way, I consider CNBC left wing biased…Do you read your biased email feeds?
Key Points
- Crude oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz were at prewar levels as of Monday, according to data provided by Kpler.
- But the rebound is uneven as refined product shipments from the Middle East remain constrained.
- The world is facing a fuel crisis with diesel prices at or near record highs, which poses a major threat to the health of the economy.
Facts are facts No matter who reports it but I’ll give you the source info if you want…..And how long has this war been going on? I thought it was about nuclear threat not oil?
And of course you cite a right leaning source.
Well worth the costs…far more expensive in life and treasure long term if Iran went nuke…are you trying to make a Nazi comparison? And I'm sure Germany rationalized what they did too.
Those who don’t learn from the mistakes of history will repeat them. We’ve been here before - Germany and Japan. We killed millions via air power to bludgeon them into submission. Imperial Japan in terms of radicalization makes Iran look like a piker. The only real cost to America are dead US soldiers, loss of fear of the American military and the end of the petrodollar . Looking pretty good on all fronts.
You assume submission of Germany and Japan were Some sort of mistake…on the contrary…they were great victories…one we have learned from..appeasement never works…Those who don’t learn from the mistakes of history will repeat them.
This is a poor excuse.
What happen to all the rhetoric of not being a war president?
A Nuclear armed Iran would have led to a world war anyway…sometimes wars are foisted on you…Pearl Harbor created the necessity. Roosevelt was not a pro war guy…but he bacame one real quick…Comparing being pulled into a world war to attacking a country due to nuclear threat and economic gain are not exactly the same.
That's the history you are not understanding. How did Vietnam, Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan turn out?
You still haven't answered the "no new wars" promise.
Nor the enormous military cost and consumer costs.
It's okay... it's obvious you all can't be objective.
