What are your thoughts - when the teacher asks for money for supplies or something?
We always donate when donations are asked for.

That is also part of the reason why more affluent cities have "better" schools, because the parents contribute to the programs.

I wonder where all the $$$ millions in technology and other bond measures go....

$for technology can only be spent on that.  $ for buildings can only be spent in that.  Period.  Strict rules.  Probably a good thing or we would have falling down buildings but highly paid union personnel.

That depends on the school and district.  Well runned ones go to where it needs to go ... the classroom.

Other ones ... it goes into a closet somewhere.

Bad ones ... ask Santa Ana.

BTW IUSD students in Orchard Hills will go to Canyon View to start, then switch to a new school in 2 or 3 years.

Looks like some tracts (maybe some homes!) will be split between IUSD and TUSD.  Looks like all new homes west of Culver will be TUSD and some homes east of Culver too.

The school boundary lines within this document can't be correct or hopefully has been modified/revised.  How can your neighbor next door be zoned to another school district.  These boundaries do not make any logical sense whatsoever.  I am hoping that if there are any Irvine Company representatives looking at this blog/board this mishap will be rectified and cleared up before the grand opening.

Irvine Company will refer you to the school districts.  May as well go there.  Yes.  In some instances, certain developments will have some lots going to IUSD and next door will be TUSD.  Call the districts and get them to send you a document stating what lots go to what district.  Logic has nothing to do with it.

I would disagree with your statement.  Logic and common sense should have everything to do with it and if this is not happening people should express their discontent and demand changes.

Boundaries were drawn up a long, long time ago.  Instead of going off half cocked, why don't you calmly ask each district for an explanation of why it happened and why it can't be changed.  You have to get both districts to give and I don't know any of us that can vote for both districts.  If you live in the City of Irvine but kids go to TUSD schools, that is what will be on your ballot.  Good luck and come back and tell us what you found out.

BTW, wait till you see how the Great Park is divided up between IUSD and Saddleback!

I don't think those lines are drawn with a Sharpie.

They will probably change once they actually start selling these homes.

I hope you are right.  I think it would be a lot easier to stick with what Irvine/Tustin has been accustomed to....that is TUSD for folks living on the Northpark side of Culver and IUSD for folks living on the other side of Culver.  It's logical and already in place for a long time.

What a bunch of idiots!

Are the perpetrators Asian?

lol ... love how race is the most important factor here.  According to DNA specialist, we're all from Africa.

Anyhow what they did was really stupid.  Did they really think they were going to get away with it?  Hope their parents pay the city the $15K in damages.
