This article seems to suggest that Irvine is becoming a place for the poor to reside in because of the recent increases in affordable housing for the city:

Is is time for us to consider selling at the top and moving elsewhere like to Johns Creek, GA? haha! Honestly, I don't want to leave my beautiful Irvine. :'(
