Was reading my CNet news feed and saw an article on words that are now popular in society.

These are the ones that caught my eye:

dadbod

ghosting

manspreading


The first one I had an idea of because well... I have one.

But the last 2 had me perplexed. I thought the 2nd one had something to do with '.' (the artist formerly known as yaliu) but it was not to be.

Take a guess before using Google-Fu.
 
Ghosting: Is that when teenagers coast cars hands-free while riding on the outside of them? I think I saw a Youtube video once.

Manspreading: It sounds disgusting, whatever it is. Good things do not come to mind.

Dadbod: Is it the male version of "MILF"?

These are just my guesses. I haven't Googled.
 
I was horrified to learn what "ghosting" means, at least, in the context I read it in. It sounds cruel. I think it would absolutely suck to date in today's world. When I'm back to being single again, I plan to stay as far away from men online as possible. They sound like immature man-children unable to facilitate the most basic common courtesies. Face-to-face with people you know IRL sounds so much better. I don't know why people even bother online. When I was dating, there was no such thing as "swipe left". People barely had cell phones then and internet was dial-up. After I played Iho's game and went to finally Google what the definitions were, I came across an article that talked about how people you meet online still view you as still just an "avatar" / disposable and not a real person until like X number of dates. Awful. It's crazy how things have changed.

no wonder SoCal is trying to lose weight and doing job interviews.
perhaps it is good time to find a rich Asian husband so she can live in her dream Irvine address.

Wasn't she trying to apply for a teaching job at the new Portola High?  Tread carefully, she might end up as your kid's teacher someday.  Then again she's had so many jobs, never seems to hold on very long anyway.
 
Wow. Who knew a few simple words would be such a magnet for haters. Somebody is obsessed. You guys have memorized details from different threads covering multiple boards and spanning days / weeks / months. And all that effort is for somebody you don't even like a single thing about... and even hate, from the sound of it. I don't see why my life is so interesting to you. If I'm such a terrible person, why care and why ask. Just imagine what you could accomplish if you funneled all that negative energy into something productive!
