I've been meaning to post this for a few weeks but keep forgetting...

We keep having this layer of Green powder everywhere all over our complex, I think it's Pollen, my wife thinks it's something that someone is spraying, we never see it in any other part of Irvine...

Has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone know exactly what it is?

No nude, we have only horrible Eucalyptus and some nice Pine Trees that drop cones on People's Cars, my wife said one guy was whining about a dent on the Roof of his Lexus the other morning, I think she cheered him up when she said "Yeah, that's why I never park my Car under those Trees"

The pine trees have two different types of pollen, the green stuff on the needles, and the cone like things that are dropping like mad right now. The needles produce this year round, but if it is really heavy all the time, then that is weird.

Our pine tree pollen, for what it's worth, is yellow. Everything was coated with yellow powder a couple of weeks back. Only lasts a week or 2.

What's wrong with eucalyptus trees?

Oooo, totally forgot about the Eucalyptus trees. I don't remember the color of their pollen but, since pine pollen is yellow (yellow, graphrix, yellow!), the Euc's might be responsible. Anything sprayed, like pesticides or fertilizers, is almost clear as a liquid and would be so fine by the time it landed that you wouldn't see it.

Liz..this is only my opinion but Eucalyptus Trees make a huge mess plus they always look like they have some kind disease...luckily one outside our Townhouse blew over during the last Santa Ana wind we had a few weeks ago...Koalas' love them though...

Eff and Nude, thanks for the replies..it must be Pollen from the Pine Trees then I guess?

I wouldnt be asking but this stuff has been around for weeks now and it's a very thick coating of Lime green yellowish coating..luckily I have a black car so it doesn't show much...

Peter, it's probably pine pollen then. I'd suggest covered parking because the sap droplets aren't far behind.

reason- yes!

No_vaseline, my Wife has the same problem...she's having a real hard time which is what prompted me to ask in the first place...
