Why buy in Woodbury? It freakin stinks every other day out there.

I've said this before, but since that stench around the area won't be going away anytime soon, why pay a million bucks for a house that stinks.



I've asked before what it is and some think it is the farms (fertilizer) around the area, and some say it is some dump around that area.



But I ask again, why pay over a million bucks in Woodbury for that stench every other day.

Sand Canyon and the 5? That is at least a mile and half away from the center of the neighborhood... I've never noticed any odor in Woodbury. Village of Columbus, yes, WB, not really.
 
I rent in woodbury and i have never smelled anything within the community. On occasion, driving towards the 5 on sand canyon there have been some bad smells, but not very often (although i always have my windows up with the AC, so that may help).

I'm telling you its the stench from that cesspool Villages of Columbus but nobody wants to believe the truth.
 
I drive to work up Sand Canyon to Portola to Jambo a couple times a week.

You can smell the dump especially when we have a slight offshore

wind like this week. And nothing like being behind those trash trucks in

the morning. YUCK.

I rent in Woodbury and don't smell anything from the neighborhood. Sometimes I smell it when getting off the freeway at Sand Canyon but I don't think its a bad smell. It's a cinnamony mulchy smell. Some people think eucalyptus smells bad too.



But I do agree 1M for a Woodbury home is crazy.

I go to the dump on Monday and spend two hours there. It does not smell. Check your shoes or something.
 
I've lived in Woodbury for nearly 3 years and have never smelled that odor in Woodbury. I've noticed it on occasion in the evenings right at the 5 and Sand Canyon. I thought it might be the irrigation for the adjacent strawberry field. You don't notice it in Woodbury. It's not the dump.

Strawberry fields have no odor. Some of those vegatable crops they grow on the Los Alimitos base STINK near harvest.

They grow more than strawberries there, as can be by the current growth there. Last I checked, strawberries don't grow in December. I did see a truck, like the one below, in the fields there the other day spraying away. Heh, no one ever said the farm was organic. And, if you have tried to grow anything this year, then you know it has been a bad year when it comes to the amount of insects OC has had.

They plant strawberries now so they can start harvesting in March/April.



That truck you saw was UN32, a nitrogen rich fertilizer that has no odor. There is little pest pressure this time of year because it is cold. On certain crops you have to apply fungicide, but it also has no odor.



Most ag chemicals have no odor anymore because it annoys the non grower neighbors. They actually add the odor so that folks who don't know better will stay out.
 
Alot of other gas smells....methane smells...
