These days, I'd go with FB over Myspace or Orkut if you're a local (Californian) user.

Orkut is popular with folks from Brazil and India. Friendster is popular with folks in Philippines. Koreans like Cyworld.

I have a Facebook page, which I almost never use.

I'm on Facebook and LinkedIn. I enjoy them both. I've also re-established contact with some people I had lost touch with.

Hello fellow friends of IHB,

I know that there are many of you on the IHB who would prefer to remain anonymous which i fully respect. I am sure that several of you were able to establish some good friendships on the IHB to go beyond just talking about Irvine housing. I, personally, have been able to find some friends here with very similar values, same faith, and similar passions in life. I recently opened up my facebook account 5 days ago and it has been a real wonderful experience reconnecting with precious relationships and friendships from the past, and also connect with a few regulars on the IHB. I have recently included SoCal78, BlackVault, Shooby, and IR2 in my Facebook friend's list where we can share photos of our friends and family and keep each other updated on what's happening in our lives. If any of you want to join our little IHB Facebook group and link with us, shoot me a PM of your email and I will send you guys a Facebook invite.

* ignore friend request from anyone you work with

* remember wall can be seen by all of your friends' friends (is there a way to change this?)

Almon, yes...go into your privacy settings and set all to "Friends Only" from the drop down menu. Some of them default to "Friends of Friends", you have to manually change it.

I ignore anyone that I don't know. I heard some of the strangers that try to add you are only there to entice you to click on a link to set trojan horses.

There is also some way to accept a friend request and only allow them to view your "Info" tab, and nothing else (ie: wall, photos, etc.) I'm not positive how to do it though, but my buddy does that. I'll have to ask her.

thanks troop...btw, did you ever get that tour of the famous house on the hills? the one where you saw heidi klum and seal?
 
almon, what a weird coincidence you ask me that. I just worked with Seal and Klum again at a function last night in The Hills. That's the first time I've seen them since that time at Koenig's house.

Unfortunately, the answer is no. I tried emailing the daughter in law once, but she never wrote back. I am no longer stationed in Hollywood, so the chances are now very slim. :(
 
BTW I started a group on Facebook called IHB on FB. Should make it easier to separate those that are exclusively from IHB.

Does your wife know that you have so many pretty single women in your friends list on Facebook? You single guys on IHB may want to ask Bix how to sign up for some ball room dancing classes.

Now Panda understands how Bix can drive a Hyundai in OC and still feel like a stud.

I sent out invites to all the ballroom dancing guys, but very few are replying. Plus there are the people from college(s), shooting, high school, cars....

So far only the ballroom dancing girls have replied. Plus also with ballroom, you have to realize that the women to men ratio is 3:1. I met my wife 2 years after I started this hobby.

Oh well..

99.9999% of those women that look at cars are the "bling bling" girls. They never look at where the REAL wealth is and most likely never will.

Its too bad though, some of them are awfully pretty, but about a complicated as a cave.

Shoob. I just searched facebook for "IHB" and "IHB of FB" but came up with nothing. What is the exact name of the group?
