Who pulled the trigger in 2012?

If Dec 2012 is the end of the world I should have quit paying the mortgage a year and a half ago...and spent it on the bucket list.
 
We have been looking for over 2 years and sold our smaller house this year but haven't found any thing to buy at the price that we want. I think my problem is that I have seen the prices at November of 2011 and can't pay 100K to 200K above those prices for the same homes. I'm hoping the prices will come down a bit when summer is over. I just hope we don't stay in our current rental place too long!
