I think I've seen this windmill, or one like it, when driving on Harvard between University and Michelson. It is across the river that runs along side of Harvard there.

This windmill is one of 1,200 such water-pumping devices that once served the Irvine Ranch before modern water systems were avaialble. Jim, a long-time employee of Irvine Rach Water District, was responsible for dismantling and reconstructing it on numerous occasions as it was moved to various locations to preserve a piece of local history. This windmill will always serve as a fond rememberance of Jim.
