Where did our new realtor go?

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Overwhelmed is certainly the right word.  Those tactics would make a lot of used car salespeople blush.  If you're looking for inputs from "professionals", look elsewhere.  Professionals are authentic, and do not need to deceive or fib to further their goals, nor do they act like success hinges on crafting multiple strong business relationships within a couple days (of posting on a web forum, no less).  I imagine the only scenario in which a new member getting RE biz leads via PM (some from guests without accounts, no less!) is if both Deuce and USC are so busy they start to turn down clients.

I'm going to try and be objective here but I do see MovingOnUp's point:

- BK went below-the-belt by making personal remarks about trace's spouse

- trace may have also crossed that line talking about Pris living off her parents' money

I don't know if those two compare... but they both can hit sore spots. Which is why I say it's better to talk about the opinions rather than the poster of those opinions.

Maybe that did cross the line--I'll own up to that. Priscilla, if you're reading this, I apologize.

ETA: For what it's worth, I also apologized to BK and wished him well at the end of the incident PStar mentioned.

I think some TI posters were a little rough with our new RE member. We need to be more welcoming of new members even if they don't fit our image of ideal forum etiquette.

Yes, she spammed the board a little with her introduction/hard sell, but TI can get a little stale with the same regular posters. We should encourage diversity of opinion and for new members to post more often.

Over time she will learn the subtleties of the TI community and could be a valuable member.

i thought you guys went pretty easy on her... in fact, indie was more courteous to her than he was ever to me when i first posted not long ago. AND i'm not even a RE.

in general its nice to get fresh opinions and new perspectives... but nothing she said was that.  she was a spam pop-up.

Indie makes sometimes derrogatory, harsh comments to people, but i find it amusing (and wonder what relation he has to BK, because BK apparently knows who indie is....  maybe if indie says hes in torn clothes in front of Ralphs on harvard/main...)

if pri wants to come back and contribute non-sales insights on real estate, i'd welcome her back.  but if starts with pm'ing me to utilize her service, i could do without.

To win loyalty realtors have to stick around to learn about their consumers. For those only interested in making the fast bucks they don't have your interest at heart. Investment of time realtors are the one you should trust.

I think the forum would benefit from more real estate professionals on here who provide good information to the members.  I think if she could have come in with a more softer and less in your face approach she'd probably still be around.

learning about their consumers is a waste of time.  they should just act on their preconceived ideas and not waste valuable time and money learning.

Unfortunately, her preconceived ideas were all wrong, which is why she had to stick around and learn first, and then offer services. IHS never said understanding your customer was a waste of time. He said opening a business and then deciding to figure out your customer as you go along (your example about adjusting inventory buys) was a waste of time at that point...and money.

Majority of the posters are Asians and Asians do not trust strangers and salesman. This is how Asians were raised. Asians trust friends and relatives. A single word from a relatives is worth a million words from an agent. Asians will trust an agent speaking in their native tongue than a Caucasian agent.

For IR and Trojan both stayed around just to demonstrate that they are trust worthy and to gain trust more than anything else. Do they really what to know and learn about each individual and the answer is no. The stereotypes allow them to understand and be prepared to deal with Asian buyers such as feng Shui and number issues.
