Where can I get Seafood?

Hello,



I am hoping to throw a seafood BBQ this july 4th with King Crab Legs, Oysters, Shrimp and maybe some clams...but am having a tough time finding a place that has these items for a good price (some places charge me more than I would pay at a restaurant that I have found OL!). Would anyone be able to help? I am feeding a party of about 6-8.

Thanks Shooby, that was going to be my backup. I just don't recall if they had the oysters...but I know they have King Crab legs, and i think shrimp too.

theres also a small family fishing business that is located off PCH and bayside dr in newport. it's kind of random to find.

turn inland on bayside dr from pch, and make a left into the rv parking and go all the way to the back of the lot next to the water. you'll find a small boat/shop docked there selling fresh seafood. my family has been buying seafood from them since i was a kid but i havent been there in yrs though.

acpme: Whoa! That's where I go kayaking all the time, it's the best! I have stopped into that little shop before...but from what I can recall they didn't seem to have a lot of quantity, as their stuff is all caught that day if I recall correctly. But I'll check it out earlier - I've always done kayaking 1-2PM so maybe all the good stuff is gone by then. Thanks!
 
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to find fresh softshelled crab?



I've gotten some frozen at 99Ranch, but i'd really like some fresh/live.
 
NoWowway - No unfortunately...the only suggestion I have is to ask maybe a local Sushi bar favorite where they got theirs? What can you do with Soft Shell Crab...do you have a method of cooking it?
 
I usually get my seafood from Santa Monica Seafood on 17th street in Costa Mesa. They have pretty much anything you could want, but I don't know if the price will be right.
