Hmmm... I drove the length of I-90 from Seattle to Boston and back for fun, watched baby Buffalo prance in the meadows of Yellowstone, genuflected at Mount Rushmore, giggled with my wife as the brown bear cubs played at out feet, rebuilt the wall surrounding my fireplace to allow the internal routing of the cables for my 50" Plasma, repainted the house's interior, grew a bumper crop of gumdrop tomatoes, spinach, and Chrysler Imperial roses, got a drink of cold water at Wall Drug, swam with my wife while the chain lightning of a nearby thunderstorm lit up the sky, discovered the goodness that is "Steak & Shake", perfected my Michoacan carnitas, and chased down a fair amount of hot air balloons as the dog days of summer have given way to our early autumn rains.

"The"? "THE"?!?!? Deuce, there are roughly 48,983 in South Dakota... and that's just the eastbound signs.

Uh-huh, Buffalo in Yellowstone and Bald Eagles and Elk. Mt. Rushmore, so much more than I could have thought. And what a surprise in Bear County USA, Rapid City, SD. Wall Drug, and the Badlands. Even drove through Sturgis in a 39ft RV with the kids during the ride. Lightning and thunderstorms.

We got caught riding the leading edge of a thunderstorm as we left Sioux Falls. The thunderheads were glorious and and it seemed as if the sky went on forever in some places.



We timed our trip to coincide with the east gate opening in the spring and we were rewarded with a view of Lake Yellowstone that I have never seen:

The last time I drove cross country, I searched the Steak-N-Shake website to find their western-most restaurant along the route. I planned my drive schedule so I would overnight nearby. It's in Edmond, Oklahoma, if you're interested. Only a two day drive from Irvine, and I'm in burger heaven. Farther east and northeast, there's no problem, since almost every middle-size town has a Steak-N-Shake.

It's in Edmond, Oklahoma, if you're interested. Only a two day drive from Irvine, and I'm in burger heaven. Farther east and northeast, there's no problem, since almost every middle-size town has a Steak-N-Shake.</blockquote>
Seriously, we must have hit 20 of those places. There is one in East Peoria on the banks of the Illinois; great view, outdoor seating, and I think I would gain 60 pounds if they were anywhere near me.

I was kinda bummed when he sent my your schedule. Sadly, we'll only be at Disneyland one night in October and we've already got dinner plans so we can't meet up then either. My wife was really hoping to get in on the IHB secret handshake. %-P

I hope you are blocking them?
 
Currently searching for apartment complexes in Tucson. Apparently things are quite reasonable down there.



Anyways, glad to see the trips was GREAT! nude. Hope the "fall" goes well.

Spent 10 years in Tucson, left in 2004. Depending on what sort of investment you're looking for, keep in mind that SW and West Tucson are the "bad" sides of town, central and east are "ok" and north/northeast were the booming "bubble prone" areas. And far northwest, the Oro Valley, was completely overbuilt and is a long way from the employment centers.
