Just curious what website you can go to to find how much someone paid for a specific place and how much they were able to put down. I know IR posts this in his blogs but where do go to find this info out. I know I can go to zillow and find how much a place was purchased for, but I would like to know how much they were able to put down.

Why I would use this? I look at privately owned places to rent and just want to make sure its not a place that is likely to go into foreclosure. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.
 
I check the public tax records to make sure they are current on their property taxes. A lot of people will stop paying on their taxes before they stop paying on their mortgage. I believe banks can start the foreclosure process only three months with non-payment, where it could take years with deliquent property taxes.

I don't believe the downpayment amount is public record.
