What type of antenna do you have for HDTV

Have you experimented with different gauge wire for the array?

It's the design of the array that makes it work. There is no current through this device, so the gauge isn't critical. I bet you could make it at 1/2 or 1/4 scale size and it'd still work....and since Direct TV expanded their local HD coverage, I don't use it anymore.

Before I moved to SoCal, I even mowed my own lawn. There is a certain satisfaction in doing things yourself, particularly when you want them done a certain way, but sometimes it’s out of necessity (somebody else won’t do it the way you want it). Try doing a rescan of each of the channels. That seems to fix the problem for us.

I don't understand how that going to fix the problem.... isn't rescanning the channels just make the TV add the frequency (which is from a lookup table, I guess) to the channel list? It is not like the station changed its frequency in the middle of the broadcasting or something <confused>

You are making it re-tune into the channels. The transmission frequency does not change but your cheap tuner may have drifted. Alternatively, there could be a source of noise that is interfering with the signal. You should use the signal meter (built in) to gauge the quality of your reception.

i used to have this, but never could get channel 7 in HD. is it just me?

You are not alone. Channel 7, unlike other HD channels in our area, is not on UHF, so you need a VHF antenna to get good reception. I use a regular telescoping rods, and it works pretty well. For the RS antenna you have, you need to pull the two telescoping rods all the way out (IIRC, there are two on the back of the antenna ?).

I just tried Channel 7 at work with my "Shack Star Trek".

Works fine in Orange. ???
