Deal with linebackers and wet blankets every time I go out but still appreciate the friendly block for me now and again.

Could’ve have used that when I moved in on Brady Quinn’s sister.

Didn’t realize she was still with that dude from the Packers

I dunno what is worse, you thinking of George Michael, or the fact that you are having trouble getting back stage passes. Good luck with that, but I think IR2 would appreciate the passes more than me.

ten reminds me of a joke that used to be told where I grew up. It goes like this.

The was an elephant walking through the forest. It fell into an elephant trap which was a pit covered with branches and leaves. The elephant tried and tried to get out, but to no avail. He was about to give up when a mouse came walking along the same path the elephant had been walking and the mouse looked over the edge of the pit. The elephant pleaded with the mouse, "Mr. Mouse, please help me get out of here." The mouse lowered some vines and branches, but they all broke and none were of any help to the elephant. Then the mouse got an idea. He raced home to his garage where he grabbed some chain and his Corvette. He drove back to the elephant, hooked the chain to his Corvette and lowered the other end of the chain to the elephant. The elephant grabbed onto the chain with his trunk and the mouse pulled the elephant out of the trap. The elephant told the mouse, "Mr. Mouse, thank you so much. Please do not hesitate to ask me for anything. I am forever in your debt." And the elephant and the mouse parted ways.

Many weeks later the mouse was walking down the same trail and he fell into the same pit the elephant had fallen into. Try as he might to scale the walls of the pit, they were too slippery and alas, he could not climb out. The mouse was about to give up, when along came the elephant down the trail. The mouse yelled up to the elephant, "Mr. Elephant, please help me get out of here." The elephant saw the mouse's predicament and knew he would help the mouse. The elephant lowered vines and branches, but none were long enough. After awhile, he tried lowering his trunk, but even his trunk was not long enough. Then he had a flash moment. He eased close to the pit and lowered his ___k into the pit. Indeed, it was long enough for the mouse to reach and climb out on.

Do you know what the moral to this story is?

By the way, ten, I do not have a great deal of interest in precious metals. They are much too volatile for me and are just a means to an end. I much prefer real estate as an asset class.

Ten, don't take this the wrong way because it may or may or may not be the case with you. However, the personality you are putting forward suggest a very insecure person. Your need to conquer women and the corvette are potentially driven from a sense of lack of power and you are trying to find that power through these things. The name brands for the name brands rather than for any particular qualities assigned to them suggest a person who is trying to prove their worth. If this is the case, it's truly sad because it's a vicious cycle. It only temporarily fulfills a false sense of security, confidence and power and then the tank returns to empty, leaving the person still not happy.

But like I said, this may not be the case with you...

I think I am more surprised at how people have actually taken him seriously. Personally I haven't, and if I did, well... then he could have actually hurt my feelings. I know that we have created a great community here and many of us have become friends because of it. So we know each other's true personalities. You have met me, and I would hope you don't think I am as much of snarky bastard in real life as I can be on IHB. I haven't met Ten, and I don't know anyone who has, but I bet he is nothing like the caricature that he portrays himself to be. In fact, I think he is making fun of the OC culture he claims to be a part of, and that is why I find it so funny. I see it as more of social satire, kinda like South Park. I can see why someone could be offended by his posts, just as I can see someone being offended by an episode SP. Me, I just laugh at both. I really would like to meet him one day, and see if he is the real deal, however I will be more shocked if he is the real deal than if he had less hair and bigger belly than awgee. Note, awgee doesn't really have a belly, but the hair... And, we both know he is one of the coolest people here on IHB, and not nearly as snarky or bitter in real life. Ten should be so lucky to meet someone as cool as awgee, he could learn a lot. Eh, I went to school with the slightly younger sister of a girl he dated, and trust me... he was and is a true tenmagnet himself.

Yes, this is a housing blog, yes, we discuss serious and important topics, but it is still the internet and anyone can be who they want to be here, real or a caricature. Have topics here veered off into a downward spiral of nothingness? Yes, but it is usually when people have taken him seriously. You can see it how you want, but I wanted to let you know how I see it. Neither of us are wrong or right on it. I still love ya, and I wouldn't let a little distraction of downward off topic discussion discourage you or anyone else from posting.
 
Tongue in cheek anyone? You guys all (with the exception of Graphix) take things *way* too seriously. Come on. Its not like he's joking about race or making hurtful comments.

I apologize for my earlier post that was totally off topic. It was one of those itches that you had to scratch and there isn't an Internet calamine lotion that I know of yet. That being said, I did question whether the personality was real or not. When I thought of it as a joke, it was OK, but then I remembered all those guys like this supposed personality pawing me. It bothered me recalling how vile the real ones like this are.

Count me in the "I'm getting tired of this" crowd. In any case, where to find drunk horny hot female coeds belong in the Water Cooler section. It's offtopic in Irvine Real Estate. And while I'm not offended by this, some people are and I respect that. The board would be quite a mess if people blithely discuss topics offensive to other people - and, BTW, I can discuss a number of offtopic things that will probably offend a lot of people here.
