What car wash products do you use?

I've had some time to test "Opti Clean" waterless wash product.  The 32 oz concentrate is avail for $21 at Detailing.com in Irvine, order curbside pickup and save on shipping.

The instructions specified 3:1 dilution ratio, which makes the product more "streaky".  Users on the optimum forum recommend 4:1 to reduce streaking, which is what I went with.  32 oz bottle will dilute to 1.25 gallons of product.  You should only dilute one spray bottle at a time, as the diluted product has reduced shelf life vs original concentrate.

Opti-Clean works OK as waterless wash on light to moderately dusty cars.  If you have nothing else to do during lunch break at work, you can take out the spray bottle and some towels to wipe down your car.  It's not as good as ONR wash but OK for mid-week maintenance wipe down.  Opti-clean users also use the product around the house, in kitchens, bathrooms, etc.  I used it on windows and bathroom mirrors around the house and the results is just as good as Optimum Detailer spray on glass.

However, even at 4:1 dilution ratio the product will still streak on glass.  Opti-clean on glass/windows will require buffing to prevent streaks/residue, versus Optimum Detailer spray is a lot less streaky and requires less buffing.  I had hoped that Opti-clean can replace Optimum detail spray product, but looks like I'll still keep the detail spray around.

It's also interesting to note that when I use ONR wash + opti-seal + optimum car wax, the car attracts mosquitos overnight.  The hood and roof of the car is like a parking lot for mosquitos at 6AM.  I suspect the scent they added to the optimum car wax might be very similar to mosquito trap attractants or something.  The mosquitos would sit on the car while I flatten them with a towel.


P.S.  Some of you have been wondering what I'm doing with all these car wash products.  I have pest control over at the house every month due to ant infestation and, while the house and garage is being bombed, there's not much to do sitting in the driveway except washing cars.
 
Optimum's products are now being sold under "VP Racing" label at 4WP (4 Wheel parts) and other retailers.  There's a 4WP store in Compton and you can get the car wax, instant detailer and power clean in 17 oz spray bottles.  The prices are pretty good too.

We're fairly certain that they are the same Optimum products because they are advertised with same specs, and the car wax UV protection has same patent # (6685765).
