Was IUSD closed last year during Thanksgiving week?

My old brain doesn't remember the kids being off the whole week last year... is that something related to budget cuts for this year?

I don't know about you but we are off the whole week as well due to a combo of Thanksgiving and furlough days.

I knew they had Mon-Wed off this week... I just didn't remember if they were off last year because I don't recall having to make arrangements for them.

I don't think it's that bad of a thing... next year we will probably take a vacation... if, of course, Prop 30 doesn't change that.

P.S. Where is all that CA Lotto money going to? Considering how much is put into that "fund"... it's surprising we needed Prop 30.

Here's what I remember from past years:

2010:  Whole week off
2011: Just Thursday and Friday off
2012: Whole week off

Googled past IUSD calendars:

2008: Just Thursday and Friday off
2009: Just Thursday and Friday off

And next year's calendar:

2013: Whole week off

So it was just Thu/Fri off last year? That's what I thought... but wasn't sure.

But why not keep it consistent?

I heard from someone who was on the PTA last year that they already scheduled the furlough days for this year before prop 30 passed.
