Voting Info

I broke from my usual habit and did early voting tonight. The line was long. When I arrived after work, there were about 50 people in line and it increased up to 80 at one point. There were six voting booths. Kudos to the folks from the OC Registrar's office because if they felt any pressure, they didn't let it show. They were very helpful and all smiles.

Back to the point.

If you can vote early (which ends tomorrow, Tuesday 10/28), or vote by mail (aka absentee), I would suggest doing so, unless you're taking the day off on 11/4. I think turnout will be much higher than usual.

Many thanks Eva for posting this last week. The two voters in our house were able to request mail ballots in time which we mailed in this weekend. You saved us a couple hours I'm sure. :)

Ditto to what NEWTOOC said. My wife mailed her ballot out this weekend too. However, I'm going to the clubhouse to cast my vote, I want my sticker.

I will miss not going to the polls a bit I admit. But I waited about an hour and a half to vote after work in ther primary and I'd rather not do that again. Of course last time Woodbury Elementary wasn't open yet so I had to vote in the Groves retirement community which didn't seem to have enough volunteers and parking for all the Woodbury people and their own residents.

Thanks for the bump. I was thinking about it earlier today and didn't get to it. Although I voted last week, I saved my sticker for tomorrow. :)

BTW, Starbucks is giving out a free cup of (brewed) coffee tomorrow to those who say they voted. No link, but I received an e-mail to that effect today.

No kidding! Thanks Morton's - guess they must be hurting with all the people running out of HELOC money that cannot fund their fancy dinners. Although Yard House regular priced martini's are $10.50 (but 1/2 off during their normal happy hour).....
