It appears that the city council voted and it lost by a small margin (3 to 4). I think what really killed it from what I understand, would've been a possible special tax assessment to those in the Great Park while the Gypsum Canyon site already has $50m in funding plus there was also concern about the bad yin energy (part of Feng Shui) associated with having a cemetery nearby.
