Unlocking your cell phone

I followed YouTube tutorials and unlocked my galaxy s3.  I look for tutorials that have lots of thumbs up.
 
I used digitalunlocking.com to unlock a iPhone 4S recently.  Paid 25.00.  My phone was straightforward, not blacklisted or in contract or anything.  This was a company phone from a few years ago and I had issues getting AT&T to unlock it because they kept asking me for the account number, which I don't have since it was company paid.  I was a little nervous about using this service, they didn't send me an email telling me the unlock was done. I'm had to go on their website to check the status myself after a few days to realize the unlock was complete.  It follows the same unlock procedure as AT&T restore in iTunes, etc.  overall, the unlock worked great, but their communication is lacking.
