Tree Trimming/Removal

I have a pine tree in my side yard above the A/C compressor, that is very large and "may" intercept roof or other structures of our home.

Any proven ideas to trim or remove tree for cheap?

Your link has suggestions from people who don't seem to live in SoCal (no loggers or regular buyers of wood here).

If you really think it's going to be an issues... have it removed. Pine needles are a pain... but just remember you may lose some privacy.

not really true.  there are a couple of firewood sellers out in the canyons
