This is an open letter and appeal to our local, state and federal leaders:
Dear Representative:
Many of us in the private sector are already subsidizing the cost of salary and benefits for Local, State and Federal workers, including the CA State Assembly and Senate, Congress and the President. Additionally, many of us in the private sector are getting our salaries and benefits cut because of the economy, including losing our employee matches on the 401(k) contributions. We would like to see you introduce legislation to cut the pay of all Federal workers by a minimum of 5% and eliminate all pensions and 401(k) matches for at least through the end of 2010. We believe that is fair since those of us in the private sector have already made this sacrifice.
