Several of us have been having a blast over there, I've had to represent the women of the IHB, since it's just me and the guys. I know nothing about football (or I didn't before), but I'm hanging in there.
 
Well this thread is a total buzz kill. I come home from a nice crab dinner in Newport to find out that the only online community I've really ever enjoyed participating in is coming to an end. Thanks to Zovall, IR, and everyone else.

P.S. The "no thank you" button would have been fantastic for Zovall's annoucement thread. ;-P

Edit: P.S.S I'm secretly excited to be an early member of the new site. :)

I dunno, I'm pretty thrilled about "smite." I have wanted a finger of smite for about 15 years now. :ahhh:

Thanks to Effenheimer, who kind of started the ball rolling, to Z and Irvine Single Mom who picked it up and carried it very far down the field. Thanks to IR for bringing the analytical perspective and showing me that I wasn't the only loon around asking, "WTF," and that I had good reason to do so.

Big thanks to all the members - even those who challenge and annoy me - because I wouldn't have kept coming back if you weren't so funny / interesting / wrong / right / informative / helpful / etc.

I would like to think of this not as a good bye, but a "See you after summer vacation." We will see you all again, won't we? :-/

I seriously doubt that. I think that zoval and IR would just come out and say "we sold the blog, see ya in Shady Canyon!" rather than kill the community they helped create. I rarely agree with their business decisions, but I don't think they ever intentionally misled anyone.

But as I have always said. A website does not make a business. Its just a tool.

To build a business and make money it takes more than a website just getting a few hits.

And if you look at this website from a commercial standpoint it reached its pinnacle in hits and traffic back in the past.

I did enjoy my time here. But taking a site that was originally chartered and created as a "RE Bear Site"

and trying to flip it 180 degrees was a mistake that I think will kill off the blog soon as well.

I am not being mean. Just honest as a longtime business owner.

Goodbye IHB. I've never been much of a big poster (almost 3 years for me, and not even to 1,000 yet), but I've learned so much here, and had a lot of fun. Along the way I've met some really great people and made some great friends. Thank you to all of the IHB founders and moderators for your hard work on this site. Sad to see it go, but change is not always bad...and I'm sure the new forums will be just as much fun --- since its the people who make the forums what they are.

Hope to see you all over there or in person soon!

Thanks to zovall, IR and ISM for allowing me to rant here over the years.

It all started out from a bunch of nutters commenting on other blogs *cough* oc_fliptrack *cough*, and realizing there are other people who saw this bubble bursting. All we wanted to do was share our knowledge to anyone who would listen. There were many who thought we were just a bunch of yahoos on the intarwebs, but from all the people who did listen and waited for the right house... it is great to hear them be so grateful for IHB in their decision to wait. I can't express how good it feels to read a post from someone who took our advice and saved a bundle.

I thought it was amazing that I had 2000 things to say, and since then I have had more than 2400 things to say. I've been lucky to have met so many great people through IHB, and I have some really great friends because of that. I hope that everyone will join in on the new site to continue the great community that was started here... by nutters.

So, thanks zovall and IR. It has been fun hasn't it? Crazy at times, but mostly fun. I wish you guys the best with your new endeavor.

Wow, did this happen because I haven't been posting enough recently? I've been out in Vegas with the family for the holidays and sharpening my poker skills. haha

This forum will be very missed by me. I was fortunate to meet some really great people out there and even more fortunate to having helped out several forum members buy their dream homes. I must commend Zovall and IR on their time and effort on keeping this forum going and I wish them all the luck with their new business venture....there's plenty of business out there for IHB, IR2, myself, and all other good RE agents. See you guys on the new forum.
 
Adios and see you guys in the new forum. A good majority of my posts here have been turned into "." Just so nothing can come back to haunt me later... ;)
 
I realized that this site generated a lot of popularity and hence generated a lot of money for realtors who could use it to milk for leads. Whether the benefiting posters using it for leads did it out of genuine concern for fellow readers does not matter. What matters was that money was being made, but the owners of this site was not seeing any of it.

So this leads to closing of this forum so that our overlords can figure out how to best monetize it.

Thats exactly what I percieve as well. Guys like USC were out hustling the IHB Boys using their own forum.

Larry and Zovall and Shevy got out hustled. So now they "take their marbles and go home".

We never did see Shevy here in the Forums did we ? Thats says volumes about his ability to communicate in

a modern medium like this Forum.

Trooper was right after all. She has that "cops sixth sense" when something is hinky.
 
I would also like to thank Zovall and IR for a great Forum, I have met a few wonderful Friends here and the Communities support after my accident was quite unbelievable....Thanks again to all of you...

I wish Zovall and IR all the best for the future, I will be sorry to see the Forum go but I understand why....

And a big Thank You to all the regular Posters who helped make the Forums what they were/are, a great community...
