If you have young kids I recommend taking them to Cerritos Library and Anaheim Central Library.
During the Summer, I recommend taking young kids to San Luis Obispo library weekdays for free kids lunch and actiivits in the courtyard. Parking is limited so go early. The library is small but they serve hot meals with healthy fruits and veggie sides.
If you’re bored the Ginko trees at Oak Knoll Park (cypress community center) is dropping fruits. Just follow the pungent smell. They will be very happy if you come and pick up the smelly fruits (nut) from the ground but I do not know if the trees have been sprayed.
My unemployment vacation is coming to an end so I will not be competing with you in foraging. It’s actually very easy to collect free edibles, including fruits from people’s yards if you just asked nicely. This week I received large bags of avocados and pomegranates.
