I was wondering what was going up near Sand Canyon and Trabuco in Woodbury:



Affordable housing at Woodbury (Arbor) at corner of Sand Canyon and Trabuco. Three other locations slated for affordable housing (one in Orange Tree and two in Woodbridge.) Article date 2/11/09 found here:

"The Arbor at Woodbury located in Irvine, California is restricted to families earning

60% or less of the area median income, and will have 90 one-, two-, and three-

bedroom units with built in energy efficient appliances including: refrigerators,

stoves, microwaves, dishwashers and disposals. These three-story buildings will

be arranged around courtyards and will have tuck under garage and open surface

parking. The community featuring a swimming pool, tot lot, BBQ?s, and commu-

nity room with a kitchen, meeting rooms, and computer learning lab, is located

near Sand Canyon Avenue and Trabuco Road.

These must be the new buildings they are putting up directly next to Woodbury Court. At first I thought they were just expanding Woodbury Court but it looks like affordable housing instead. This would be the 2nd such property in WB--the other being WB Walk across from WB Place.
 
I also thought that those new buildings were an addition to the existing apartment complex but now I know that they are a separate complex. The Arbor sounds like they will have some nice extra amenities such as a computer room, etc.
