Do you have any recommendations for good contractors or plumbers that can flush out the system? How much did they charge you? I've heard it ranges from $85-150.

seems easy.. just gotta go out and get the stuff to do it.  Maybe you can find someone on the real cheap.

You'll also need to buy a bucket and hoses.  I bought these washing machine hoses since they had the fittings installed.

OK, so I did the tankless water heater flush and it was really easy. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say it was a 1. My 92 year old grandmother could do the job. Just thought I'd share in case there are any of you out there that are contemplating hiring someone.

 
I've just done it today.  It is definitely not difficult, though there was a bad moment for me. I followed this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nP2bIBB5w8&feature=youtu.be

Some notes:
- The most difficult step for me was actually turning the water valves.  They were very stuck.  I initially thought maybe it was faulty and asked the Builder to send someone to fix it. The guy was able to turn it but only after a lot of effort/difficulty
- Get hoses with stainless steel couplings. In one hour my hoses were corroded by the vinegar
- I got a 1/3 HP pump. Powerful, but I would recommend others to get something less powerful (1/5 or 1/6)

My problem is the part that the hose connects to on the pump got loose, which caused a tall vinegar fountain to occur. A less powerful pump would have reduced the splash. I recommend making sure all connections to the pump is secure (including any parts on the pump itself), and also get your pump/bucket far from the water heater itself (thankfully only a little vinegar got into my water heater).

Costs: $50 for the pump, $15 for the hoses, $3 for the HD bucket, and roughly $12 for the vinegar. Total one time cost ~$70, recurring cost ~$12 + 1.5h of your time.
