went here on the recommendation of a friend and was deeply disapointed.  these tacos are different, vastly more expensive, and dont tast nearly as good as the tacos i get from my favorite taqueria.  the whole experience was like a thumb to the eye to be quite honest.
 
Costa Mesa being Newport adjacent is highway robbery for the consumers. I want the best at a bargain. Try Santa Ana for a good taqueria or better yet the best Donut Star. You will never find a donut star in Irvine because it is a ghetto affiliated novelty and business like that will never get pass the landlord and the city.
 
Taco Asylum is tacos for yuppies, the small tacos are good as beer food.  If you prefer something more authentic, try this place in Tustin:
