Suspicious claims of $8,000 home buyer credit...big suprise...NOT!

Looks like there are thousands of folks who are trying to take advantage of the system...

One more reason they should let the credit expire

CAR is pushing hard not only to extend it, but to make it available to ALL buyers..not just first-timers. If anyone thinks it's bad right now...

I do not think you guys understand.

People have a right to housing.

People have a right to health care and health insurance.

People have a right to food.

People have a right to child care.

People have a right to transportation.

People have a right to a minimum wage.

People have a right to cable tv.

Preach on bruthah! This is more important than healthcare or food.

I believe that was the intention of creating entitlement programs in the first place; job security for government. This country's government was founded with the intent of creating maximum liberty for it's citizens, and yet somehow it's morphed into Big Mother. You're hungry? Big Mother will feed you what she thinks is good for you. You're thirsty? Big Mother will choose what kind of drinks you can have. You're sick? Let Big Mother take care of you. You're broke? Big Mother will give you a few bucks to get you through. Come here, honey, Big Mother is gonna take of you.

Once I realized that 2+2=5, I learned to love Big Brother.

Appropriate because less down is the new up in the economic newspeak world we exist in.

Big Brother/Big Mother/Uncle Sugar will take care of us up until the bill of fare comes due from our creditors in Eastasia. That's certainly going to make things interesting.

No worries, Big Mother will just put them in timeout until they agree to play nice.

I think this is one of those topics where politics and real estate are commingling, although I think Bush 43 would have extended AND doubled it by now so it's not really a partisan political thing.

Very true. It's just that my nose gets tweaked when people confuse public policy choices with fundamental rights. Needless to say, the darn thing is completely dislocated these days.

Seems like IRS doesn't have the system, time, and resources in place to verify the documentation. People saying refund comes within 6-16 weeks of submission. I got mine within 6-7 weeks.

Btw, USCTrojanman, you're not a CPA... yet Maybe should revise your name. USATrojanManAlmostCPA

I haven't got mine yet, and I filed over two months ago. I did get a form letter last week saying (in horrible bureaucratic-ese) "we got your return, we are processing it, sorry for the delay". I assume the delay is due to this story; IE, they are triple checking all claims for the eight grand due to all the fraud and it's taking forever.

What? No 5 weeks vacation plus 2 weeks reduced working hours?
