Did the SeaWorld thing and had to have sushi for dinner :)  Sushi Ota did not disappoint with over 2000 yelps it is indeed the best sushi in the SD area.  Chirashi and sushi dinner above were decent but not a wow.  At $30 a piece it was a tad expensive.  Simpli Sushi in Industry gave me three pieces of chu toro at $28 along with lots of other sashimis.  Best dish of the night gotta be the yellowtail kama (collar).  It was grilled/toasted perfectly with crispy skin.. Clearly one of the best cooked piece of fish I've had in awhile.  Asahi draft (goodbye 30 day diet) was also surprisingly crisp and dare I say sweet.  Never had a decent Asahi until now.  Perfect pour with half inch head.

I LOVE (and miss) the food in San Diego (we moved back end of last year to Irvine). Have heard great things about Sushi Ota. I don't eat meat but I've been curious about whether Sushi Ota is actually as good as the reviews claim.
