What are you guys doing this summer?

I got tix for the Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach (never been), the OC Fair, the Santa Ana Zoo (never been), and mini golf / go carts at Boomer's. I bid on a package at our school auction and "won". I also booked a trip to Catalina. Even though I am an OC native, it will be my first time ever on the island. I am going parasailing! I'm really looking forward to that. I thought about making a trip to the Carlsbad Caverns... but... eh. I'd really like to see it but don't feel like making the trip all the way out there just for that.

There seem to be a lot of international travelers on TI. I am sure there are a lot of exotic plans in the works.

Maybe Florida... kids want to go to Golf Land... err... Disneyworld/Epcot... but might be too hot.

Another alternative would be Canada... much cooler.

The Canadian Rockies are amazing during the summer.

Not a lot planned.

Regular weekend runs to either the Aquarium or Zoo.  I'm not a big crowd fan and everything seems to get over-run in summer.

A trip in August for the Paso Robles Olive Festival.

Maybe a trip mid-September to Julian see an Apple orchard and maybe hit the mining company.

Looking for a little more off the beaten path day trips.  I find it a lot easier getting out and back in Orange County on Saturday than trying to fight the Friday night traffic and Sunday night traffic.  So pretty much anything east of Riverside, North of Santa Clara/Barbara requires a vacation three day weekend to make it worthwhile IMHO.  Otherwise it seems you spend 50% of the time in the car.

CZ! - see my FB post if you are interested in meeting up with me in Las Vegas.

I saw that! Yes, Yes, Yes! :)

Summer plans.. Colorado first. I planned all this while to see the Royal Gorge. The bridge is closed due to the recent fires. Lets' see how that one goes now! No international trips this year, but my nation is coming to me ;-) Parents should be here in a couple of weeks. They are planning to stay for six weeks. I don't know how that one will go, they are not used to this kind of heat. But good thing, they are escaping the rains! Husband wants to take all of us to Alaska on a cruise- but I think baby steps are better. See how I fare on a trip to Catalina may be!?

That sounds really cool! Now you've got me looking at their website. I didn't know that was there.

I am planning a camping trip to Calico Ghost Town for this fall / winter once the brunt of the heat has passed.
