Stonegate HOA warning letter on ads at my door

Sheesh I got a warning letter (with a photo of my door) from my HOA saying I didn't clean the flyers at my front door on a daily basis. Since when did these ads become home owners' responsibility? How about going after the jerks that put flyers on our doors, which is the root of the problem in the first place?

Dang. My current house (no HOA) has TONS of ads at the door, so annoying. I clean them once in a blue  moon. I guess I'll have to do it every day once I move to an HOA community...  :-\

Wow. I consider what they're doing to be littering. If anything, these solicitors should be fined for littering. Sorry for your trouble.

We have tons of flyers at our doors too.  At one point I was thinking to wire some power to my door knob so it will give those damn solicitors a good shock when they hang those flyers but I don't want to accidentally shock myself.  Talked to hoa but they can't do anything about it.  So we ended up put a nice metal can by our door step says 'Put Ad Here' and seems to do the job most of time.  Although still getting ad hang on our door knob from time to time by those who can't seem to read.

unfortunately you'd only be shocking the cheap labor that they hire.. can't shock most of the agents that drop off the ads.

True, we were thinking to call the company that sends and ask them to exclude us, but there are just too many of them!  Oh well, like someone said, there is third world problem and there is this...

I've gone a step further for maximum efficiency.

Get a sign which says "No Handbills" or "No Flyers" and attach it to or near your door.
I did and along with a can to put the flyers in if they must.  Most of them will put the ads in the can but apparently a few of them don't know how to read and still hang the darn flyers on my door knob. ::)

I wish our HOA would do this. One of our neighbors homes seems to always have about 30 of these on their front porch.
Well they will start to clean those up after getting break-in.  To me having a lot of fryers laying around on the front door suggest the home owner might be away for extended period of time.

I wish our HOA (CV) was this strict in our community.... we have one horrible neighbor on our block who keeps trash on the street all the time. i've been complaining to HOA but they aren't doing anythng about it... it looks so gross!!!

That's so awful!

Wonder if  that consider illegal dumping and violate some city code.

IIRC, CV and Stonegate have the same HOA management company.

Ahhh the joys of a motorcourt.  So nice that 5 other owners have to drive past that to get in their garage.  I don't think  WM will even pick that up on trash day, right?  Usually they just take what's in the can and keep going, unless you schedule specifically for a bulk pickup.

When I lived in irvine waste mgmt was good about picking up a box or bag that I would occasionally put next to the cans.  When I moved to Tustin, ccr waste mgmt didn't pick up anything that wasn't in the cans, even if it was a small box or bag.
