Star Sightings in Irvine

So in my four plus years of living in Irvine, I don't think I've ever seen a single famous person in this town. I did once see Kobe Bryant at the Pavilions in Newport Coast, but that's the closest. Well, that and the homeless guy. Anyone ever had a star sighting? (Yes, I know - it's a fluff thread but I don't care!)
 
<p>Well if you want to see a COMET, a real comet in the sky, you can look to the northeast. It's naked eye visible, and looks like a faint star, but with a pair of binoculars, like a small fluff ball.</p>

<p>If your air is clean enuf.</p>
 
never seen anyone famous in town, but here are a few notable irvine celebs that i can think of: will farrell, zack de la rocha and tim commerford (rage against the machine), thrice, mark mcgwire, the offspring, and john lovitz (uc irvine graduate).

</em>Was this pre-entourage, when he actually was the brother who couldn't get an acting job? If not, did you raise your arm and scream VICTORY!? As embarrassing that is, and as much as I could care less about celebs, I would have done that.
 
Celebrities, nice. I'll tell you a celebrity sighting story (not in Irvine though). Eight years in LA certainly had it's disadvantages, but occasionally, I got to see famous people. So, one Friday night, I'm at the Trader Joe's at 3rd and La Brea and I see Ashlee Simpson with one of her dumb friends that she lived with at the time. Now this was, mind you, just after she had gotten busted for lip-synching on SNL. It took everything I had not to go up to her and start moving my lips without saying anything.





Other story: in the car on the way to House of Blues once, some guy was wrecklessly jay-walking and we nearly hit him. It was Emilio Estevez, coach of the Mighty Ducks!





(Question, what does homeless guy look like? I once snapped a picture of the only homeless guy I've ever seen in Irvine.)
 
I did see a gentleman with the same built but without the dreadlocks near the Village of Hope. It might be him with a short hairdo now.
 
Does Tawny Kitaen count? Probably not considering I had to check the spelling of her name on IMDB. Perhaps that should be the criteria? If you can't spell the name without help it isn't a true celebrity?
 
I thought it was a mouse too!! (Actually, it looks rather like Garry the Rat who played a lawyer on a short-lived adult cartoon series!)
 
Oops, that sounds insulting. The hub and I really like that cartoon show and were sad when it was taken off. I think IR's bear should look more bearish!! At least we all didn't think is was a bull!
 
Well, at least you will know when the market has changed. IR will have changed his icon to a bull.
