Would any of you worship a God who bestowed financial favors upon you at the expense of another person, particularly if currying favor required idolatry?
 
Oh man this is too funny!! We used to live in Buffalo, NY and people honestly did this...housing crash or no. You get a St. Joseph statue and you bury it in your backyard and he helps you sell your house. Everyone said that they knew it didn't REALLY work but they did it anyway. When we sold our house one of my girlfriends gave me a small St Joseph statue. I didn't have the heart to refuse it and as much as I wanted to throw it away I couldn't make myself do it! I tucked it into a drawer in the kitchen. He's still there as far as I know. A teeny-tiny part of my brain worried that if I threw him away he'd jinx the house or something. Complete b.s. I know, but even in a normal market selling a house is stressful and the truth is I'm a huge sucker for schmaltz.
 
I was thinking that all those former (insert subprime lender here) employees could make a nice living selling these to all those buyers they sold down the river.....

Notice the first layer of low fence at the front of the yard and the second layer of Statue of Davids and the final layer of another fence higher than the house. Neighbors were so angry and threw rocks at the windows and that is why the final layer of fence is there to protect the entire house from pop shots. The interior was designed by Caesars Palace of interior decorating.

Saw the St. Joseph statues for sale at the local ACE hardware at Alton & Jeffrey, hanging by the cashier near the PEZ and candy.



Is that a sign for the IHB faithful waiting to buy that The End Is Near? :)
